As much as we like to point fingers at Buhari for every dysfunction is it really his fault. Granted Buhari has a seeming preference for his people for appointments and he seems to know few southerners on an intimate level to make personal recommendations, but why are states nominating the likes of Kemi and now Shittu for appointments, despite glaring deficiencies. Kemi for instance was nominated by the Jagbadan and the Osibanjo group. Who nominated the geriatric ambassador to America who took exception to reciting the National anthem at NASS. Who allowed the dancing senator inherit his brothers seat without his WAEC and why did the party allow his name on the ballot for governor without it even if it is not a constitutional requirement, is there no one else for the sake of meritocracy. Even for Buhari himself who entered the army without allegedly taking WAEC where are all the young men who were not accepted into NDA and federal jobs despite scoring five credits and passing NDA p...

The law is the law, but Nigeria where nothing works as should, really makes it extremely hard if not impossible to do the right thing, the right way, at the right time. In the case of the former minister of finance her story and facts indicate she was qualified for an exemption, the issue is that it appears she did not claim her exemption through the long and tedious official channels process, instead she used agents who duped her with the assurance of a fake certificate. Many people will suggest that she should have known, but I seriously doubt that she did or bothered to investigate, why would she do that, since she was technically exempt anyway. I sense that this former British citizen must have just experienced relief at getting over one of many hurdles of getting to be a Nigerian officially.
