Angst and Visions of A New Nigeria

I have said it before and I will say it again if you are mad about Buhari, blame yourself for campaigning and voting for him in 2015 and celebrating and laughing at Igbo people for voting themselves out of the power game.

I remember every last one of you writing epistles about the poor politics of ndigbo refusing to join your changi. You thought you were so smart. It was indeed kool and hip to be part of the CHANGE movement abi?

To Southerners:

Go back and check how you all were laughing at Orubebe and ready to tear Nigeria apart if Jonathan did not hand over and the fool that he was did, despite all the glaring technicalities including underage voting that he could have used to overturn the election with your vigilant support which you did not give, where is your PVC card now.

I wonder how Nigerians especially the victim minorities of the north, south and middlebelt could not sense the anguish of Orubebe when it dawned on him and the over sensitized minorities of the delta that power had been seized by the majority, you, especially the middlebelt were happy to resume your alliance with Arewa, abi?

A special place in hell must be reserved for you if you voted for him as a southerner, or as a Christian despite all the warnings of Islamization that were circulating around social media that you chose to ignore.

The hottest part of hell should be reserved for the PhD academics, and graduates over 18 and some diasporans who used their influence to convince the proletariat about voting for Buhari, it is not enough to say that was then and this is now, a vote is like a marriage, even after divorce the ties still remain.

After blaming yourself individually and collectively, we move on to groups and the lightening rod for recriminations should be Tinubu for using stolen Lagos funds and whipping the Yoruba Southwest in support of Buhari against a southerner simply because they felt Jonathan had sidelined them because they did not get a few token appointments.

It is extremely unlikely that GMB would have been able to win the election without Tinubu and Amaechi’s support because Buhari was not really the preferred candidate of Arewa, but Amaechi was a secondary player, Tinubu the tipping factor

Also do not forget that the same Atiku that tried to unseat Buhari in 2019 is the same Atiku that also financed Buhari’s campaign against a fellow civilian because power had to revert back to the north, he did not remember he was a minority chamba man then, right.

Where was the quest to have so called educated leaders when you voted Buhari with his NEPA certificate over a Former lecturer and Doctor of Zoology even if we could not find his doctoral thesis. Beforehand did you not vote Obasanjo over Falae a Harvard trained economist, I say again a Harvard trained economist for a farmer from Otta.

Fortunately Elections have consequences and some deeds cannot be undone and when you protest and fight to hard to ensure something is enthroned it sticks and cannot be removed with the added consequences that you create new admirers of the leader you foisted on them.

To Northerners:

Your leaders have ruled Nigeria for donkey years yet according to statistics you are now one of the poorest regions in Nigeria with war in the NE and rising Shia agitation on the religious side. You have an epidemic of out of school children on the social side and rampant banditry, armed robbery and kidnapping that has made the entire north become like Ali baba and the 40 thieves presently.

How could you have betrayed a Jonathan that opened 12 federal universities and countless almajari schools for you and contributed your life savings to elect a Buhari that has brought nothing but more poverty to you, is the price of poverty and endemic fear worth the price of having your Buhari in office.

The elections of 2019

Now after experiencing a downturn in the economy and after raids by the Fulani militia to open the path for Fulani settlements and because you all of a sudden have no money and because you blame Buhari and the Fulani for all your poor life choices you want to upend the change you so strenuously foisted on us by bringing Atiku a beneficiary of sharp business practices that have made him a monopolist billionaire as the solution to Buharism, I am sorry I cannot follow you because you are so desperate for any evil just to remove Buhari, I am sorry it will not fly
this time

The Vision of Terhemba Osuji post 2019:

I have come to the conclusion that Buhari is a necessary evil to reset Nigerians to its default sensibilities with his next level.

In fact I want him to RUGArize the whole of Nigeria especially in the west, now shedding crocodile tears. You cannot give us Buhari keep on enjoying the filtration of assets to grow your region, new trade zone, new refinery etc without giving back something.

I feel sorry for the middlebelt that had to experience its own version of Igbo pogroms otherwise known as massacres to become radicalized about its true situation and how it has sold itself intones current quagmire but if it persists in not applying itself to proactive agricultural animal husbandry policies that it should have implemented years ago then its lands must be RUGArized if the remain fallow, you cannot be enjoying crude oil allocation from the devastated delta that you refused to maintain in power and not give up your lands for a national cow and resettlement project.

I hope the Buhari can Shephard the Nigerian economy to prosperity but on the other hand I expect Arewa will keep pushing Buhari to continue with his singular pro-north policies that interestingly brings further devastation to the north sliding it down to even more severe multi dimensional poverty amplified by greater banditry by ancestral cousins all the way from Libya.

It would not be bad for Buhari to give all appointments to his Fulani brethren either, let the south and Christians experience complete relegation in the scheme of affairs to unite them about the need to cooperate to maintain a balance in Nigeria.

If by 2023, Tinubu proposes to have the north transfer power to him as agreed, I would love that a lot as only a fool will think the north will not take power back for itself instead of handing over to an ethnic champion like Tinubu, and since gullible Igbo have fumbled away potential support for its candidacy, it would be sadly great to see another mallam be elected after Buhari during all the confusion.

Perhaps by 2027, after sanctions and all the aid has dried up and all the officials have been banned from leaving and Nigeria is in such dire straits I would hope to see a situation where a Fulani or Hausa man will go berserk if another Mallam dares propose himself unless a business minded Igbo man, perhaps Terhemba Osuji, is elected to fix Nigeria. I hope there will be a revolution.

In the alternative I would hope that women would stop hating on themselves and vote enmasse for a female candidate, I would hope that university students would burn down polling centers if the elections are declared for anyone else but the Moghalu or Sowere’s of that time and if all that does not happen perhaps Nigeria would just disintegrate into several countries without a shot being fired or a word said as enough would be understood to be enough to even the deaf and dumb.
