Devils Advocacy For New Nominees
Baboon cannot be chopping after Monkeys have done the heavy lifting is my contrarian view of the nomination of the new cabinet.
All they former governors and various party men have been settled like all good party men for the APC’s electoral victory against the consolidated might of PDP fifth columnists, who are these ideal technocrats that Nigerians want, were where they during the heat of the elections and the many journeys into the hinterland and meetings with the proletariat.
All jokes aside no one, not even under-qualified civil servants, are willing to give up their seats to any foreign based diaspora expert to come and be speaking grammar to resident wisemen who know and truly understand how Nigeria works.
Do Nigerians even desire technocrats, in the rabid mania to remove GEJ many Nigerians declared their contempt for the likes of Iweala or Adesina and so many others for their perceived ill performance and no one really listened to their advice.
Who can forget the public’s anger when Obasanjo’s set an IMF/World bank funded policy to compensate diaspora experts to bring their expertise home in the past, does the federal or even state or local government find positions for well-educated experts who return home, no they are ignored and left to rot?
Some of these so-called diaspora experts are generalists and not astute managers of men and who are they compared to former governors who have practical experience in leadership, all with advanced degrees and or qualified by virtue of their immediate experience.
There is no comparison between the expert and these nominees despite the ideal of academic wizards Nigerians pretend to desire despite electing a leader with a NEPA certificate.
Many of the minister nominees were forwarded or penciled in as strongmen of their respective states and many are being celebrated for being reborn as ministers after suffering electoral defeats despite pending corruption cases or their legacies of maladministration, they are the men of the moment deal with them.
Many of the critics on social media are just champions of social media with no connection to the grassroots, all of them, including some on my friends list did not even make the first round at the polls of their party’s congresses so who are you to challenge former elected officials.
Nigerians will not listen to you but they will listen to former elected officials who are in their positions because they got inspired into the fight to lead their states and God and man allowed their vision to come to fruition, go and contest and be shot at, and stoned and denigrated on media and consult and supplicate the people endlessly and see if you have the stomach to tolerate and continue like these men do, if you cannot do not begrudge them their nominations.
Hopefully as politicians looking to prove themselves for further electability, they will seize initiatives presented to them by the hopefully qualified and technical perm secs and move mountains to get things done if the debilitating counter and negative forces allow them.
Leadership in Nigeria has advanced beyond nonentities being given seats at the table, you must have proven your mettle and excelled in a positive or negative field to even qualify to have a seat at the table beyond mere academics.
A quick search of the internet can make an expert of anyone with advanced education and receptive and communications skills possessed at advanced levels by these men, why do you think they are where they are today and why do you think they have been elected to various positions severally.
In conclusion how do you expect a Buhari who has declared Nigeria’s youth lazy and who has exemplified activity by his globetrotting both domestically and internationally despite his age, to tolerate invisible technocrats and social media activists who cannot bring together the Nigerian factors of production to win elections and further his vision in the implementation of public policy.
Get into the mix or sit back and watch the men of the hour show you how it is done, most importantly stop being a hater, nothing is given, it is earned in the Nigeria of today, get to work.
