The constitution has a minimal qualification of a secondary school leaving certificate (How many of you even have your original WAEC certificate, most of you got into a higher institution with a statement of result and your certificate is still at the ministry of education) and the ability to read at an advanced level and write (literacy).  Yet you have a candidate past over 70 years old, a grandfather, that is an Army veteran with blood on his hands, a former minister, former military governor, former President, a retired Major General, chairman of PTF, 5 time presidential candidate and serving President and still energetic to be walking 🚶upandown at his advanced age while you are too tired or lazy to hustle. I wholly concur with the precedent set by one judge that: "A candidate must be educated up to secondary school level, that does not mean he must present the certificate" Perhaps this point was covered in his brief and Nigerians need to gain a better understanding of this issue. 1. WAEC has its origins in academics and it is a universal aptitude examination or test that was once the standard for admission into post secondary institutions. Due to the indications of aptitude it provided it became the standard demanded by both schools and employers today. However Unlike in the past, WAEC is not the only aptitude test used today for admission into higher institutions and it is not a certificate in the true sense of the word. 2.  The race for 2023 is on and one of the top contenders is El-Rufai either as a VP to Tinubu which he has publicly discountenanced or as the presidential candidate himself.  El-Rufai is of Fulani ancestry and a rare one at that as unlike many of his Fulani brethren he is a first-class graduate of ABU with advanced degrees from Universities in London and from Georgetown and Harvard Universities in the United States respectively.  However, all his education has not reduced his observed bigotry and tribalism or his penchant for viewing actions from parochial lenses.  During the height of Boko harem insurgency and during the many army deployments during the reign of Jonathan, he was quoted as saying that the Johnathanian army was being deployed to kill Muslims.  Another shocking revelation was his disclosure that he paid his relatives Fulani herdsmen aka the Fulani militia tribute to stop killing and he was able to justify his actions in a series of interviews. ...

As much as we like to point fingers at Buhari for every dysfunction is it really his fault. Granted Buhari has a seeming preference for his people for appointments and he seems to know few southerners on an intimate level to make personal recommendations, but why are states nominating the likes of Kemi and now Shittu for appointments, despite glaring deficiencies. Kemi for instance was nominated by the Jagbadan and the Osibanjo group. Who nominated the geriatric ambassador to America who took exception to reciting the National anthem at NASS. Who allowed the dancing senator inherit his brothers seat without his WAEC and why did the party allow his name on the ballot for governor without it even if it is not a constitutional requirement, is there no one else for the sake of meritocracy.
